A discount card for students can be issued by a university, a student organisation or a group of partner merchants. The HiCo stripe is not easily erased near phones or magnets, so the card can be used for a long time. The unique serial number or barcode printed on the card allows checking even at partners that have no magnetic reader. For student ID cards without a stripe, see the ID cards category.
